Port Townsend Weekend 2013

Michel, Laura, Doug, Mike, Dale, Janene, Martin, Paul & Ann-Marie all rented 2 houses in Port Townsend. Despite less than fantastic weather, Saturday morning they dove out of downtown Port Townsend and dove Reef's Pier. The viz was really poor but there was lots of Plumose Anemonies, and an Octopus in a big rock pile. After a nice hot soup surface interval back at the houses, the second dive was the wreck of the Ranger. The site was very shallow, max depth of about 30 feet and tons of life on the ship. The next dive was at Fort Warden, where Officer and a Gentleman was filmed. The dive was done at slack tide and though there wasn't supposed to be any current, there was quite a strong one. Despite the strong current, it was a decent dive with lots of macro life. There were also lots of bottles at the end of the pier. Even though it wasn't what should be considered "Keystone on steroids", it was a great diving weekend nonetheless.
